Some flower hair bows I made Little Princess, they may not look like it here but they are at least two inches across most are closer to four....so what do you think?
One more question here....who would be interested in purchasing one of these -- depending on the flower they would cost from $5 to $7 ....

Little Lamb Cupcakes

It is Thursday again -- the day I throw all caution to the wind and put up a how to food post! We all love to eat right :)
So since I have small children who are currently obsessed with farm animals -- really any animals I am always looking for something cute that they will love! Not to mention I am four months from them turning two and well this is the first birthday party I get to throw for them and while I want it to be thrifty I am all about it being fun and something they will enjoy! So I am taking notes on some things I can make for them as we go and this is something that is on the list!
How cute are they:

How to Sew Your Own Produce Bags

Posted by Carissa at 10:57 AM 0 comments
Recently I sent my husband to the store for the family groceries when he returned we discussed all of the plastic sacks he returned with and if I could make for us some of the reusable sacks that we have seen and I told him I would start looking for a pattern that would work (I don't want to make more work for the people at the store.) -- I have yet to find one I like if you have one you like leave me a link to the pattern in the comments! What I did find though is NOT exactly what I was looking for but would help cut down on waste as well and now is the perfect time of year for me to make them, reusable produce bags...I wish I had thought of this but alas I did not but I will be sharing so all can make them!

So this is from Linda Permann over at CraftStylish! Go HERE to check out the tutorial!
Then make a few I know I will be...our house is trying harder to go more green!

Baby Drool Bib with Gore-tex liner

Posted by Carissa at 10:45 AM 0 comments
When we brought our twins home at 13 months I didn't really think I would need that many bibs that were not for meal time but I had not calculated their early birth into the equation nor did I consider what teething did to a baby and I now had two. I had cute bibs mainly for eating and just to have around but NONE could contain the drool that was escaping their mouths. I would remove the bib and almost no matter what their clothes were wet underneath even with bibs where that was not supposed to happen. The vinyl bibs were not only ugly they seemed to just be for meal time. I resigned myself to trying to change the bib prior to the wetness making it to their clothes, needless to say we changed bibs and clothes A LOT and that does not even count the diaper blowouts we experienced!
Recently I found this tutorial  on instructables -- for a bib that has a Gore-Tex lining now that I could have used (I could have even made a few quickly) .
Here is a picture of her completed product:

As always NOT my picture -- it belongs to the woman who created the tutorial!
The twins are now long past the constant drool stage BUT Pants will be entering that stage before Alison knows it...maybe we should make a few of these for her and give them a try!

Find It Friday - Finding the Right Fabric

Posted by Carissa at 10:00 AM 0 comments
Many of my projects require more than one fabric and the fabric should look good together and make my project look even better! I can stand for HOURS in my sewing room or at the fabric store trying to decide what looks best only to get the project done or even get the fabric home and think man I wish I had used the other fabric. This can make me hesitant to finish a project sometimes (and I already have problems finishing projects as it is, I don't need anything else to add to my perfectionistic tendencies.
I found this great post over at Lazy Girl Designs -- Choosing the Right Fabric Isn't Always The Obvious Choice....
Not only did she layout the perfect way to choose the fabric she also made me feel as if there is always more than one right choice! AMEN....Finally someone who makes me feel as if there is no ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY perfect choice just depends on what look you are going for!
I am off to the fabric store to get some new fabric and try out how to choose the right fabric :)

Butterfly Cookies

Posted by Carissa at 10:00 AM 1 comments
So today is Thursday and I have decided that on Thursdays we will do food tutorials -- either something that Alison or I make and LOVE or something that we found on the web that we would love to make or have tried and LOVE! I figure that we all love to eat right!
The first recipe we have not tried yet though I plan to soon as my husband's grandmother LOVES and collects butterflies and this will be a fun gift for her for Mother's Day as she is going to be moving to a much smaller place soon and does not need more things. She should love this...so what is it:
Butterfly Cookies from fancyflowers
butterflycutters
Picture is property of fancyflours
Sugar cookies look amazing! I am so excited and the directions look so simple!
